  The members of the Ohio Corn Growers Association, like the members of the National Corn Growers Association, support a mission to enhance corn profitability and usage to improve the quality of life. With a 2004 crop nearing 12 billion bushels, it has never been more important for corn growers to enhance corn usage through traditional and new markets.

  Ethanol is a renewable transportation fuel produced in the United States that is a key element in the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Energy Initiative. Produced in the United States, ethanol is typically made from starch crops, primarily corn. It can also be made from sugar crops or agricultural waste and "cellulosic biomass," such as fast-growing trees and switchgrass.
