Casting Inclusions
An Investment foundry was experiencing intermittent inclusions in a cast part. Repeated in-house tests did not reveal the source of this problem. Through EMTEC and another of EMTEC’s programs (CTeC), an inclusion was analyzed and its chemical composition was determined. This information allowed the foundry to determine the source of their quality problem and fix it resulting in the dramatic reduction of quality rejects and over $30,000 in cost savings. |
